Earlier in 2014, a team from Harvard college in Massachusetts had developed an origami robot that walks on transforming paper legs.
Now MIT researchers have developed a much smaller origami robot that can walk, swim and dissolve in acetone afterwards. This is however powered by an external magnetic field and is currently of limited application.
The older one seems to be more useful at the time. Until they find a way to power the smaller one without a huge magnetic field nearby.
